Serious Hubby

I wanted to do a pencil drawing of Randy, and I wanted it to be serious. That was hard because he is usually smiling. Anyway, I have been just playing with my mechanical pencil on sketch paper. I did this but not overly happy with it, I don't know if I caught his essence, I want to do another, maybe smiling next time! He hates it, says he looks old, but he doesn't, just distinguished. He wears this big ole hat when he is in the sun working all day. I love him in it!

I love it, but am waiting for him to crack a smile and give me grief about something....anything!!! He seems to enjoy doing that to me! LOL

aahh he will always be the worst critic of his own portrait. It comes across as a very sensitive drawing.

I really like this sketch, even if your hubby doesn't! You have a great sense of color which I love as well. I've nominated you to receive a blog award - so feel free to stop by my blog and pick it up when you have the chance. btw... I'm in California, too, but I was up in Sequoia National Forest when the earthquake hit. Some folks felt it, but I was busy setting up tents, etc.

Beautifully done... I don't know if it's accurate or not but I love how he looks and I love the hat!

Wonderful sketch Disaree. He looks like a man with great virtue in that hat.
