Finally Finished

Well I haven't had much time to draw, I have been trying to finish this quilt before a show deadline. I did it! Yippee! I am so done, I struggled with the size of the quilt and manuvering it through my machine to quilt it, wow, how I like small quilts better! My arms just burned as I tried to keep it rolled up as I shoved it through that small hole in the machine. It ended up being close to 80"x49". I just don't see how they quilt those quilts that are 8 -10 feet long, wow, I admire the people who are doing that size of quilt. I know that when I took Velda's class her newest quilt is 12 feet long. That is some big quilt. Well here it is, comments are welcome.

I like smaller quilts better too. The bigger ones give me a chance to practice using words that don't normally get said, though. Hiring a longarmer is an option for those who can afford it.

Love the quilt - the colors are so sharp and the quilting is gorgeous.

That's the very reason I wound up *buying* a longarm! I couldn't stand manhandling huge quilts on a little machine. I know someone who does it beautifully, and I'm in awe of her work, but it will never be me.

Dianne, the colors are wonderful! And your tiny little quilting in the background is amazing! Beautiful design, and so realistic looking! To think it's a quilt rather than a painting is just so amazing! Bravo!

Congratulations Desiree - WOW! I thought I was looking at a watercolour until I read futher and discovered you're also a quilter. Then when I enlarged the image, to find that the flower cases even have poppy fuze on them and the stamens tiny seed beads. The detail is exquisite. Wishing you the very best of luck with the show.
